JUNE PHYLLIS MCFARLAND

(nee WEBER)

On December 28, 2024, Jesus called June home.

June was born in Winnipeg, the loved and loving daughter of Phil and Kay Weber. June was predeceased by John, her loving husband of 61 years, her brother-in-law Ray, sister Audrey, nephew Cale, and is survived by their daughters, Heather (Stan) and Bonnie, grandson Dan, nephews, Brady (Linda) and Trevor, sister-in-law Shannon and family, and numerous other relatives and friends.

June was a graduate of Isaac Newton High School. She became a Registered Nurse in 1958 after graduating from the St. Boniface School of Nursing. June used her nursing skills with her family and at hospitals in Ottawa, Banff, and the Grace Hospital in Winnipeg.

June and John were married June 10, 1961, and had two girls, Heather born in Winnipeg, and Bonnie born in Ottawa. She was a great all-round person who loved to garden, cut grass, paint, do needlework, cook, bake and sew. June also loved to play sports with volley ball, basketball and baseball being her favourites. June was a giver and she would give whatever she had to those in need.

June was also an animal lover. If you were an animal, you could find June at -30C or +30C, outside feeding whatever animals needed food. Dogs, cats, rabbits, birds - they all knew when they saw June that they were going to be fed. This love for animals is now part of her legacy that will live on through Bonnie, Dan and Heather.

If you wish, donations can be made in June’s memory to the Winnipeg Pet Rescue, Faith to Live By, or a charity of your choice.

A private family burial has taken place.

Condolences & Memories (1 entries)

  • My deepest condolences to Heather, Bonnie and Daniel. It is difficult to think of a more kind and caring person than Auntie June. She was also a fabulous cook and I fondly remember the holiday dinners together. Dad would then eagerly wait to sample Auntie June's homemade peanut butter brittle. Her love for animals was profound, recollecting her precious dog Dino among her other treasured pets. There is solace knowing that she will be at peace in heaven, alongside Uncle John, and other family, including her beloved sister Audrey. - Posted by: Trevor Chabot (Aunt) on: Feb 25, 2025
