With heavy hearts, we announce the sudden passing of our father, Ferenc Homola, on January 15, 2025.
He was predeceased by his father Ferenc Senior; mother Katalin; brother Laszlo; and beloved wife, Katalin. He remains forever in the memories of his children, Zoltan Homola (Homolané Victoria Simon), loving daughter Melinda Homola, and grandchildren, Ákos, David and Dori Homola, along with family and friends near and far.
Apu (dad) was born in Rákoskeresztúr, Hungary on September 23, 1949. He studied to become a tool and die maker having a successful career both in Hungary and Canada. In Budapest, just in the neighboring house he met his wife Katalin (Anyu) of 50 years.
In February 1988, Apu alongside of family made the pursuit for a new life in Hoff Germany and then Winnipeg, Manitoba in 1990. Apu quickly gained employment as a tool and die maker at former Franklin Enterprises LTD, from where he retired after 25 years at the age of 67. He was a very dedicated family man and worked hard to provide a good life for his family.
After retirement Apu and Anyu frequented Hungary to visit their grandchildren and family. They also enjoyed trips to Birds Hill and the Whiteshell. After losing Anyu in 2021 he persevered with the heartache for the next four years.
His soul is now at peace and reunited with his love, Anyu.
