LIESEL JANSSON

Liesel passed away peacefully on January 30, 2025, at the Bethania Mennonite Personal Care Home. Born on September 29, 1928, in Tiegenhof, Germany to Willy and Anna, she was the youngest of four.

She will be sadly missed by her sons, Peter (Donna) and Hartmut (Daniela); and daughter Marlies (Paul Burgoyne). Proud and loving grandmother to Angela and Jodi (Mark), Maya (Javier) and Kandice, Kyle (Laurence) and Devin. Great-grandmother to Mila, Lilianne, Wesley, Sasha, Roman, and Bianca. Predeceased by her husband Reinhard, of almost 64 years, her brother Kurt and sisters, Annemarie and Brigitte.

Immigrated from Germany with her husband in 1952 and worked hard as a wife and mother to provide a loving and secure home. She remained active after her husband's retirement, including travel in Europe and the US, hosting grandkids, bird watching, early morning swims, and medaling in numerous Seniors Games. She was an active volunteer at the Fort Whyte Centre for 25 years.

We wish to thank the wonderful staff at Bethania, especially the personal care workers, nursing staff, and management.

For any memorial donations, consider Bethania Group [https://bethania.ca], 1045 Concordia Ave., Winnipeg, MB R2K 3S7.

Memorial service to be announced in the coming months.

She will forever be remembered

in our hearts.
