Darlene, I am so sorry to read of Jim's passing. Cancer is a terrible disease and hopefully they will one day find a cure for those who have to deal with it in so many forms. I think of you both often and your visits at the campground with your Mum and Dwayne. Cherish all those wonderful memories with friends and family. He was involved with so many people like hunting and fishing friends and had so many interests and passions, He will be missed. Take care. I met Jim when I was a clerk/steno for the RCMP. In Wasagaming, he would often be posted to the Clear Lake detachment during the long weekends. When we had to round up the rowdies, Jim was a great guy to work with, so kind, a big teaser and a great member of the force. He is fondly remembered and will be missed. - Posted by: Heather Chow (Co-worker RXMP) on: Mar 08, 2025

Our sincere condolences to all of “Jimmy’s” family. My brother Rob or Robbie as Jim affectionately called him, shared the same passion for fishing and a love for creating the best fishing experience for whomever was with them that day in the boat. They both had the gift of making you feel like a friend they were fishing with! This past fall Jimmy made our recovering grandson’s birthday wish come true with a catfish adventure! The care and compassion he showed will be forever appreciated and remembered! - Posted by: Ron and Elaine Fehr (Friends) on: Mar 07, 2025

Jim and I met at Depot, 1968, we were posted to the same Division, Manitoba and were stationed at neighbouring detachments. Him in Reston and me in Melita. Over the years we were stationed near each other again, this time in HQ. We kept in touch, not that often, but our paths would cross often. He was a great friend, I will miss him. My condolences to Dar and family. - Posted by: Dick Grattan (friend) on: Mar 06, 2025

My heartfelt condolences to Dar and the family. Jim was a great friend, and I will miss him dearly. He was always interested in hearing about my career and giving me advice. I was fortunate to be able to go catfishing with Jim and his friends a few times. I learned how to properly tie a lure, string a rod, and hold one of those monster catfish. I remember being out on the river and noticing boats moving closer and closer to us as we were catching catfish back to back—sometimes two coming in at the same time. Jim’s kindness, wisdom, and friendship will be deeply missed. - Posted by: Ryan Rodger (Neighbours and friends) on: Mar 06, 2025

More than just a neighbour. A dear friend that would help anyone. Always keeping a watchful eye on our neighbourhood. Kept our trail cleared, had the snow plowed before we went to work. My introduction to catfish fishing. The place to sit on the porch and swap stories. He loved Dar from the bottom of his heart. A special person , we will always remember. Our condolences to Dar and family. - Posted by: Heather Rodger (Neighbours and friends) on: Mar 04, 2025

My sincerest condolences to Darlene and family. My fondest memories of Jim were his sense of humor. He loved his fishing and his annual fish fry's. He loved to kid around and Darlene would patiently smile by his side. RIP Jim - Posted by: Wilma GRIFFIN (Friend) on: Mar 04, 2025
