HANNA DIONNE

Peacefully on February 26, 2025, Hanna, having reached the milestone age of 99, passed away after a three-year battle with dementia at St. Joseph’s Residence.

Mom was born in Germany on November 1, 1925, and came to Canada in 1954 with her husband, two children, and half-sister Helga, who she had raised from the age of six, after their mother passed away.

Hanna always took great pride in her appearance and home. She was such an elegant lady. She lived independently until the age of 95. She was a very strong-willed, determined, forceful woman whose presence will remain.

Mom loved to travel and had many adventures with her daughter. She delighted everyone with her lavish home cooked meals. We have so many special memories to cherish. She was full of life. She loved having gatherings with family and friends. Bingo, shopping, dancing, Daniel O’Donnell concerts were her favourite, along with frequent visits to the casino. We are grateful for her long life and that her suffering is over.

She leaves to mourn her children, Renate (Clyde Ralph), Alec (Judy), five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. She will be missed by Rose (Rolando) and Angelia Hipolito. She was predeceased by her partner of 25 years, Richard Niedbalka.

Heartfelt thank you to St. Joseph’s Residence for their care and kindness.

As per mom’s wishes, there will be no funeral.

Rest in peace mom, baba.

We love and will cherish you forever.
