Qatya Miriam Zahir (Liam John Derkach) passed away suddenly on February 21, 2025.
She is survived by her loving parents Joyce and Brian Derkach, her twin brother Ben, grandmother Catherine Fergusson (Nan), Uncles Earl (Allison) and John (Liz), cousins Katie and Holly, and was predeceased by her grandparents Domia and Carl Derkach and Ian Fergusson.
Qat was a beautiful, kind soul, and will be dearly missed. She was a gifted computer tech, loved learning languages from an early age, loved literature, was an amazing chef, and was passionate about world affairs.
A private interment will take place at Glen Lawn Cemetery.
In her memory, you may choose to donate to one of: Red Cross (Middle East Humanitarian Crisis), Save the Children, Oxfam, Bruce Oake Addictions Centre, or Kiva.
We love you Qatya.
You will always be in our thoughts, prayers and be in our hearts forever.

We are heartbroken to hear of Qat’s passing. She was a beautiful soul. We will miss her wonderful sense of humour, her beautiful smile that would light up the whole room.
