Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryOLIVE SIELSKI
It is with a heavy heart and gratitude for a life well lived, that we announce the peaceful passing of our Mom, Baba, Grandma and Great-Grandma. Olive Sielski. Mom was born in Kreuzberg on December 16, 1930, and passed away surrounded by love on Wednesday, March 12, 2025.
Mom was predeceased by her parents, John and Nettie Stolka, husband Ed, sisters, Mary and Rose, son Bruce, sons-in-law, Bill and John and many cherished family and friends along her journey.
Mom is survived by daughters, Bev, Shirley and Carol, daughter-in-law Kathy, grandsons, Aaron, Lorin and Allan, granddaughter-in-law Wendy and great-granddaughter Brooklynn.
Just to make a long story short… Mom loved to laugh, tell stories and spend time on the phone with family and friends. She especially loved a good joke, and it became funnier when she tried to remember how she thought it went.
When visiting Mom it was always so important you took candy, popcorn, cookies or fruit-whatever she had on hand! Mom was incredibly kind and thoughtful with a sharp mind and even sharper wit! Her “million dollar smile” lit up any room!
We were blessed to have Mom for 94 years, she had a full and beautiful life with many memories to share and stories to tell. Mom always shared her life tips on gardening, cooking, baking, and “how to” advice to anyone who would listen.
You will be greatly missed dear Mother by your family, friends and all that shared your path in life.
The family wishes to thank the amazing, kind and so very caring staff at Gimli Betel. You kept Mom safe, warm and often entertained and we are grateful!
In lieu of flowers, consider a donation to the Gimli Betel Foundation or the Winnipeg Beach Legion in Mom’s honour.
We will have a graveside service and reception at the Winnipeg Beach Legion in June.
