Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryZAMID (ZELLO) KHAN
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Zamid “Zello” Khan, who died peacefully on March 16, 2025, at St. Boniface Hospital in Winnipeg, Manitoba, at the age of 77.
Zello was predeceased by his beloved wife, Charlotte Khan (née Delaquis), in 2002. He leaves behind his loving partner, Faye, as well as his son, Michel (Diane), his son, Hafeez (Deb), his daughter, Natasha (Nick) and grandchildren, Noah, Julia, Emma, Olivia, Matteo, and Zella.
Born in Trinidad in 1947, Zello left his island home at the age of 21 to build a new life in Canada. Trading sugar cane fields for prairie skies, he made Winnipeg his home, where he met an outgoing franco-manitobaine named Charlotte. Together, they built a home and raised three children. A proud father and grandfather, he relished every second spent with family, softly offering words of wisdom and advice when needed. Resolute in work as in family, he devoted 47 years of service at the Victoria General Hospital, where he was known for his compassion, quiet strength, and deep commitment to those in his care. Zello will forever be remembered for his warm smile, love of family and friends, and, unforgettably, his curry and fried rice. He enjoyed the beauty that life has to offer. Simply put, he was a great guy who liked nice people. It was difficult to not love Zello. He is already missed by everyone who knew him.
A burial will take place at St. Norbert Cemetery at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 27, 2025. A celebration of Zello’s life will follow at 2:00 p.m. the same day at Glen Lawn Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that donations be made to Diabetes Canada in Zello’s memory.
