Ines was born April 18, 1942, in Santa Maria, Acores to parents, Filomena Soares (December 10, 1916 – January 21, 2005) and Antonio Figueiredo (April 14, 1914 - August 4, 1947). Ines, Manuel and their son Jose, immigrated to Canada in 1966. They first lived in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan for five years before permanently settling in Winnipeg. Ines worked in housekeeping at the Health Science Centre for 24 years, and often spoke of how much she loved working there and made lifelong friends as well. Ines was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, auntie, and friend to so many.

Ines is lovingly remembered by her son Jose Figueiredo Cabral and his wife Rhonda Simone Murray Cabral; her two grandsons that she adored, loved beyond measure, and had a standing Swaka game date with every Sunday, Jose Vasco Simao Cabral (18 years) and Rocco Manuel Ramon Cabral (16 years).

Ines leaves her sister Maria Moreira, married to Antonio Moreira who passed away October 28, 2006; her nephews, Manuel Moreira (Lisa); and great-niece Christina, Joe Moreira; great-nephews, Andrew, Joe, Jeremie Craig; great-niece Ashley and Antonio Moreira who passed away June 4, 2021; great-nephew Anthony and great-nieces Amanda and Maria. Ines also leaves her brother Jose Braga and his wife Maria Braga; nephew Antonio Braga (Eleni) her great-niece Ariana and great-nephew Antonio, Steve Braga (Melissa) and niece Sally Furtado (Mitch); and great-nephews, Jacob and Noah, all of Boston Massachusetts.

Ines is also survived by her brother-in-law Jose Cabral and his wife Maria Cabral; her nephews, David Cabral, Dean Cabral (Janet); great-nephews, Dylan Cabral, Jagger Cabral (Alicia) and their children, Mazen and Jules; great-niece Savannah Copp (Riley); nephew Brian Cabral (Cara) and great-nephews, Braxton, Caelum and Aydan, all of Winnipeg, Manitoba. Ines was affectionately called Tinaj by her nieces and nephews and had special relationships with each of them.

The family especially would like to thank the wonderful people at St. Boniface Hospital and Riverview Health Centre for the exceptional and respectful care given to Ines during her time there.

Prayers will be held Monday April 21, 2025, at 7:00 p.m., and a Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated on Tuesday, April 22, 2025, at 12:00 p.m., with Father Andre Lico presiding. Both will be taking place at Immaculate Conception Parish at 181 Austin Street North, Winnipeg, Manitoba.
