JAY PEARCE

May 25, 1987 - April 15, 2025

We are saddened to announce the passing of Jay Pearce on April 15, 2025, at the St. Boniface Hospital after a long battle with addiction.

Jay was predeceased by his father, Jack and grandparents, Bob, Betty Pearce, Edgar, Edith Weber, and uncle Bill Scott.

Jay is survived by his loving mother, Ingrid, sister, Tracy (Dan Martens), niece, Mia and his cat Jagger. He will also be fondly remembered by his uncles and aunts, Helmut Weber (Amy), Gerda Scott, Jim Pearce (Sharon), Bill Pearce (Vikki), Jeff Pearce (Cindy) and cousins Mike, Bobbie, Chris, Karilee, Jaclyn and Jamie and their families and special family friend Elizabeth Cairns.

Jay graduated from Glenlawn Collegiate in 2005 and started working at MPI in the Mail and Warehousing department shortly after.

Growing up, Jay enjoyed participating in hockey and baseball. Jay loved his sports teams, particularly the Winnipeg Jets, Winnipeg Blue Bombers and San Francisco 49ers. He was looking forward to cheering on the Winnipeg Jets on their run to the Stanley Cup.

The family spent many happy summers at the Jessica Lake cottage. Those were the most carefree times of his life: fishing, canoeing, swimming, waterskiing, wakeboarding and jet skiing.

Even throughout his struggle, Jay’s outgoing and friendly personality never wavered. He was always happy to see you and greeted friends and family with a big smile and a hug. Our family will remember Jay as being full of spirit, energy and humour.

A celebration of Jay’s life will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, May 5, 2025, Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd.

Jay gave the gift of life through organ donation.

Instead of flowers, donations may be made in Jay’s memory to the Bruce Oake Foundation or the charity of one’s choice.

A sincere thank you to all of the people who helped throughout Jay’s journey in life.

  • Ingrid, Tracy, Mia, and Family, Jay has left you far too soon...how you will miss him as his space is left empty in your lives with his departure...but the warmth of memories of him will keep him alive in your hearts. I feel your deep sorrow. I remember Jay as a wonderful little well-behaved kindergarten student who played well with his little 5-years-of-age classmates. Heartfelt memories from so long ago! May he have a peaceful repose with his dad and all of his loved ones who have gone before. Love and sympathy, Helen Feniuk (Jay's and Tracy's K teacher, G. McDowell School) - Posted by: Helen Feniuk (Kindergarten teacher) on: May 03, 2025

  • I had the privilege of knowing Jay as a co-worker & friend through the Riverwood Church Foodbank. Jay was such a wonderful person to be around. He always brought joy and passion with him wherever he went. We had some good laughs together! I will remember Jay as a kind, caring and outgoing person that loved people around Him well. My heart goes out to Jays family & friends as they grieve this tremendous loss. - Posted by: Emily Barnowich (friend) on: May 03, 2025
