LEA LILLIAN MENARD

(nee DANDENEAU)

August 9,1948 - April 28, 2025

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our loving Mom, Grandma, Sister and friend.

Lea passed away after a brief illness, April 28, 2025 at the St. Boniface Hospital. Lea was predeceased by her husband David, son Keith, parents, Leo and Anna, brothers, Emery, Emile and Gerald and numerous in-laws and friends. She is survived by her sisters, Cecile, Alma and Ada (Harvey). Lea will be sadly missed by daughters, Connie, Adele (Rick), Shelly and precious grandchildren, Danny, Elissa, Rhea and Lucas. She will also be missed by many others.

Lea was born in Fisher Branch, MB, the second youngest of seven children. After a long and dedicated career at Great West Life, she later followed in her Dad's footsteps by becoming a school bus driver. Lea raised her family with David and during that time, she enjoyed curling, playing cards, and hosting dinners. Lea curled many years with the St. Vital Curlettes, entered many bonspiels with her sisters and truly loved and excelled in the sport.

Cremation has taken place and a Memorial Mass celebrating her life will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 7th at St Bernadette's Parish, 820 Cottonwood Road with reception to follow at Precious Blood Parish, 200 Kenny Street. The family would also like to thank everyone for their kind words and support in this time of grief.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Lea's memory to a charity of your choice. A private family interment will be planned at a later date.

Condolences & Memories (5 entries)

  • Our family was saddened to hear of the passing of lovely Lea. We had many back yard fence chats during the many years we were neighbours. We were newlyweds (back then) and Lea was one of the first neighbours to say hello and always greeted us with a smile as we tried to combat the weeds and tend our garden and yard. As our family grew, we shared flowers and vegetables, and also passed the little children over the fence to play or to visit the lovely backyard fountain. We hold close many wonderful memories of David and Lea and extend our sympathies to your family. Dave, Lynda, Jen and Megan - Posted by: Lynda and Dave Wray (Neighbours) on: Jun 08, 2025
