Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryTHOMAS DANIEL DAVIDSON
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Thomas "Tom" Daniel Davidson who passed away after a lengthy battle with cancer on March 9, 2025, at the age of 63 at St. Boniface Hospital.
Tom was a dedicated and skilled plumber, steamfitter, and pipefitter by trade for over 45 years. He enjoyed his time at Westwood Mechanical and ended his career at the University of Manitoba. Tom was always willing to use his expertise to help friends and family whenever they needed. When he wasn’t working, Tom could be found in the great outdoors - the place he truly loved. Hunting at first light, casting a line into a quiet lake, or spending time at the golf course brought him a deep sense of peace and joy. His stories of the one that got away - or didn’t - were legendary and always shared with a twinkle in his eye.
Tom cherished time spent with friends and family in his backyard gazebo, where football and hockey games were best enjoyed with good company, a roaring fire, and a cold drink in hand. Those evenings, filled with laughter, storytelling, and the crackle of a bonfire, are memories that will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his sister Barbara Rodie, his nephew Chris (Kayla) and their children Jack and Leo and his nephew Scott (Caroline). His close friends Kevin and Barbara Block, Mike and Debbie Banman (and their daughters Tamara and Crystal), Michelle Fischer (and her son Daniel) who he considered family.
He had an open door for all of his friends and enjoyed when they would stop by for a drink and a good conversation. Tom lived simply, worked hard, and enjoyed living his life to the fullest. He leaves behind a legacy of friendship, craftsmanship, and a life well-lived.
The family would like to thank the staff on the Palliative Care ward at St. Boniface Hospital and all the medical staff who supported him during his illness.
A celebration of Tom’s life will be held on Saturday, May 17, 2025, from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. at Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd., Winnipeg, where sharing stories, laughter, and a few drinks will honour the man who meant so much to so many.

I will truly miss you my friend, my heart has felt empty. I still can’t believe you’re gone. I have even caught myself picking up my phone to text you a few times about the Jets and then realizing you’re not there. it’s gonna take a long time for this one to pass. I will never forget you, love you, brother. - Posted by: Tibor Szendrei (Friend) on: May 10, 2025

Tom was a cornerstone of our neighborhood. He always had time for friends and neighbors, whether it was sage plumbing advice, fishing yarns, or a few beverages and good cheer in his outdoor mancave. His kindness was apparent in many little ways: Tom always had candy for our sons growing up; and many a detour on chores seemed to go through Tom's backyard. A kind heart and a hearty laugh - we miss you Tom. Dave and Sue Blicq (friends from The Glen). - Posted by: David and Suzanne Blicq (Friends and neighbours) on: May 10, 2025
