ROBERT KEITH REA

In Loving Memory

A Tribute to a Life Well-Lived

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing Robert Keith Rea, who departed this life on March 24, 2025, at the Carberry Personal Care Home. Dad was a cherished individual whose presence brought light and joy to all who had the privilege of knowing them. He always had a smile and pleasant laugh for all who met him.

Born on April 29, 1933, Dad led a life characterized by kindness, determination, and an unwavering commitment to his values. Throughout his journey, he touched the lives of countless people through his work, friendships, and acts of generosity.

Dad had a strong work ethic. He was a man who could tackle any task. He was fortunate to work for a wonderful family, Bailey Farms for 34 years. In his younger years, he devoted time volunteering to community service in coaching hockey when his boys were younger, volunteering to video community events for Westman Cable, he was a member of the Carberry Presbyterian Church, an active member of the Carberry Elks, and of course both Dad and Mom were “grandparents on call” when ever their family needed them.

Dad is survived by son Don (Debbie), Wendy (Jack) and Leigh (Phyllis). Grandchildren: Karra (Donnie) and family, Nici (Jason) and family, Garrett (Brittany) and family, Michael and family, Kayla and family, Daniel and family, Megan (Jason) and family, Jamie and family and Ryan and family. Dad had numerous nieces and nephews as well as great granddaughter Jayde (Tyrel) and family. Dad was also so proud to be a great-great-grandpa. Also left is Dad’s only surviving sister, Ida Mae Walker. He also leaves a community of friends, who he valued and cherished.

Dad was predeceased by his loving wife and true friend, Barbara. Also, 3 brothers and three sisters: Don, Howard, Jim, Marj, Doreen and Louise.

A celebration of Dad’s life was held on March 28, 2025, with a private family graveside service, officiated by Emma Seamore. Friends and family were invited to gather and share memories in honor of Dad at the United Church Hall following the graveside service.

Dad’s warmth, wisdom, and love will forever remain a source of comfort to those who mourn his loss. Family would like to send special thank you to Emma for officiating and being such a wonderful support. To Brian at White’s Funeral Home, for the compassion and caring guidance and assistance, to all the staff at Carberry Home Care and staff at the Carberry Personal Care Home- all of you were so caring and amazing in helping Dad in his last years of his life, special thank you! To the Bailey family, you were more like family than you were Dad’s previous employer. He treasured all of you. To all the special friends at the Carberry Lodge, Dad enjoyed his card games, puzzles and companionship. Thank you for being friends.

If friends so desire Dad’s wishes were to support Cancer Care Manitoba in donations.
