Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryGEORGE PELLETIER
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of George Pelletier, who passed away on May 27, 2025, at Victoria Hospital at the age of 89, surrounded by his loving family.
George is survived by his wife, Alice; his son, Robert and wife Ayda, his son Richard; and his cherished grandchildren, Brianna and Sean. He was predeceased by his parents, Cecile and Hector (Vic) Pelletier, as well as his sister Irene and brother-in-law Bill Perry.
George’s career spanned many years in education. After earning degrees in Physical Education and Education from Bemidji State College, he began a fulfilling career in the Transcona-Springfield School Division. He taught at Arthur Day School for 12 years, coordinated an At-Risk Program at Transcona Collegiate, and later worked as the Coordinator of Work Experience at the school board office. Upon his retirement in 2000, he and his colleague, Adam Ferman, co-founded Millennium Program Consultants, which proved to be a successful venture.
A proud father and grandfather, George was known for his quiet yet strong presence, sharp wit, and unwavering dedication to family. He loved spending time with his grandchildren; a daily highlight was picking them up from school, and joining friends at the Refit Centre or for a cup of coffee. George also found joy in traveling with his family, enjoying a milkshake at McDonald's, and, albeit reluctantly, spending time at the family cabin.
Cremation has taken place, and a memorial service will be held on Friday, June 27 at 10:00 a.m. at Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Boulevard, Winnipeg (R2J 4J4). For more information, please contact

George and I taught school together at Arthur Day Jr. High from Sept. 1967 to June 1973, The first 2 years were at the Old Arthur Day Jr. High which was located on Day Street, right beside the old Central School. In 1969 we moved to the what is the present Arthur Day Middle School During our time together there it was called Arthur Day Jr. High, and it was a 7 - 9 school. We had so many good times together. We never taught together after I moved to a different school in 1973, but we continued to be friends, and often chatted at divisional meetings and other events. Our last time together was at a Retirees Breakfast that was held at Pine Ridge Hallow, a few years ago. We sat side by side and reminisced and laughed for an hour. George was an amazing teacher, coach and leader of people. He was one of the most charismatic persons I ever knew. People were drawn to him like bees to honey. I never knew anybody that didn't enjoy his company. You will be missed my friend. - Posted by: Earl White (Colleague) on: Jun 26, 2025

Mr. Pelltiere changed my life as a teenager. He helped me gain confidence in myself and I will forever be grateful. At Transcona Collegiate he pushed me into the job that would change my life. I volunteered at St. Amant centre the whole time I was in school and eventually got a part time job as a feeding aide and then I got a job as a teacher aide at Bernie Wolfe. Thank you Mr. Pelltiere for all your love and support. - Posted by: Charlene Will (Student) on: May 31, 2025
