It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of John Vernon Mosby, who died on March 24, 2025, in Calgary, Alberta, at the age of 72, after a brief but brave battle with cancer.
Born in Deloraine, Manitoba, John was known for his quiet strength, kind spirit, and deep devotion to family and friends. A man of many talents, he was passionate about music, woodworking, and technology. His journey took him from building guitars in Red Deer, to farming in Manitoba, to graduating with honors from SAIT in Calgary, where he later settled.
John found great fulfillment in recent years at Collicutt Siding Golf Club, where his knack for fixing anything earned him admiration and friendship. He cherished time with his family, his garden, and the black cats who faithfully kept him company.
He is lovingly remembered by his wife, Karen; his first wife, Dianne (Paul); his children, Lisa (Adam) and granddaughter Kady, Juliana (Tyler), and Dana (Tia); his sister, Myrna (Larry); his brother, Ewen (Amy); and nieces Wendy Jo (Kurt) and Brittany (Mark). He was predeceased by his parents, Harvey and Maisie.
He will be deeply missed and forever loved.
A celebration of John's life will be held at a later date. All who knew him are welcome to attend and share in honoring the life of a truly special man.
