Agnes Charlotte McKeand passed away peacefully in the early afternoon of June 8, 2025, at Concordia Place, in Winnipeg.
Mom was predeceased by her beloved Mac McKeand. They were married on April 8, 1948, in Lac du Bonnet, MB and spent 44 happy years together before his death in 1992. Their early years together were spent where Dad’s work with the Hudson’s Bay Company took them - Winnipeg, Hudson and Dinorwic, ON before settling in Winnipeg in 1966. Mom worked at Sears Polo Park, then at K-Mart Southdale until her retirement in 1986. Dad has been waiting for Mom for 33 years and we know his arms were open last Sunday when she was ready to go. They’re taking a few turns around the dance floor right now.
Mom will be deeply missed by her girls: Deborah, Cherryl (Jack), Barbara and Patti (Rob); grandchildren, Kevin, Jaclynn (Nathan), Matthew, Wesley (Danielle) and Holly; and great-grandchildren, Blake, Penelope and Winston.
Born in Great Falls, MB, Mom is survived by one sister Margaret of Lac du Bonnet, MB. She was predeceased by parents, Axel and Charlotte Hansen, brothers, Peter, Norman, Robert and Louis (Buddy) and sisters, Jean, Hilda, Anne and Helen.
Love and thanks to all the 4th floor care workers, nurses and doctors at Concordia Place for their dedication in providing the best care possible for our dear Mother. A special thank you to Vicky Crawford-Briden, case coordinator and all the home care workers who provided care to Mom prior to her move to Concordia Place.
Funeral service will be held at Glen Lawn Funeral Home, located at 455 Lagimodiere Blvd. Winnipeg, MB on Monday, June 16, 2025, at 10:00 a.m.

Condolences to the family! I just became friends with Deb who is my neighbour where we live. I loved listening to the wonderful stories of Deb and her mom’s travels to different places. They had a wonderful friendship plus being mother and daughter. Your mom and dad are now together again. - Posted by: Sharon Samson (Friend) on: Jun 15, 2025

Condolences to the family. Agnes was truly a remarkable woman. She had a wonderful sense of humour and I loved visiting when she lived with Debbie. Lots of laughs, especially when Avon orders were being filled. I have many happy memories of Agnes as I am sure everyone does. - Posted by: Kathy Tremblay (Friend) on: Jun 14, 2025
