JOHN RAYMOND ELIAS

John Raymond Elias passed away peacefully Sunday, June 15, 2025, at Bethania Mennonite Care Home, surrounded by family. John was born December 19, 1948, to Jacob and Margaret Elias. The family came from humble beginnings where they learned the value of hard work from life on the farm.

In 1965, he met the love of his life Loreen Loewen and they were married in September of 1968. John started driving truck early on in their life together to support family. Their marriage was blessed by the arrival of daughter Cheryl in 1969 and son Brad in 1973.

Family and faith were important to John which was the reason he chose to move away from life on the road and transition to managing a large distribution centre in Winnipeg. He retired in 2008 after multiple attempts, and soon after began enjoying winters in Mesa, Arizona, allowing him to do what he loved, playing baseball and golf year round.

John leaves to mourn his wife Loreen Elias, son Brad (Christy), grandchildren, Ashlyn and Mackay, daughter Cheryl (Doug), grandchildren, Riley and Christian as well as three brothers, four sisters, many in-laws and numerous nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Service will be held Wednesday, June 25, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Riverwood Church Community Warehouse, 270 Gordon Ave., Winnipeg.
