TERESA DINGMAN

(nee MATHEWS)

October 14, 1941 – June 22, 2025

The Dingman family is deeply saddened to announce the passing of Teresa Martha Dingman, who left us peacefully in Winnipeg on June 22, 2025.

Teresa will be lovingly remembered by her sons, Mark (Marisa) and David (Karen); her grandchildren, Michael (Kymberly), Anya, Isabella (Ryan), and Leah; and her great-grandchildren, Issac and Rylen. She also leaves behind her step-grandchildren, Jill (Matthew), Colter (Kirsten), and Jeremy, and step-great-grandchildren, Quinnton, Oaklen, Aubrey, Rowan, Madison, Soren, and Tage. She is survived by her siblings, Patrick (Giselle), Philomena (Maurice), Mary (Mark), Bridget (Daryl), Joseph, and Elizabeth (James), as well as many nieces and nephews. Teresa was predeceased by her son Allan; her parents, Lawrence and Martha Mathews (nee Bangart); her brothers, Lawrence, Blaise, Anthony, and Thomas; and her sisters-in-law, Marilyn and Rose.

Born on October 14, 1941, in Beausejour, Manitoba, Teresa was the eldest daughter in a family of 11 children. She was raised on the family farm and attended school in Cloverleaf, Manitoba. After settling in St. Norbert in 1974, Teresa and her sons embraced a busy life, often centered around early mornings and late evenings at the hockey rink. She was their greatest supporter, working tirelessly to provide for them on a single income.

In 1973, she began her career at Motor Coach Industries, where she worked as a welder for 40 years. Her incredible work ethic and determination were admired by all who knew her. Teresa took immense pride in her home, and her beautifully maintained garden was a source of joy to her. She was known for her blooming flowers, perfectly kept lawn, and the care she poured into every detail.

Above all, Teresa was a devoted mother and grandmother. She was always present - babysitting, hosting Christmas dinners and Sunday brunches, organizing sleepovers at her house, or cheering from the stands at her granddaughters' hockey and soccer games. Her family was the center of her world, and her kindness, resilience, and love will be remembered forever. We will miss her deeply.

A memorial service in honour of Teresa's life will be held on Monday, June 30, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. The service will take place at Glen Lawn Memorial Gardens, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd.

Condolences & Memories (3 entries)

  • So sorry for your loss Mark and David. Your mother and I were very close when we were young. Lots of good memories of times we shared together. Barb Magnusson - Posted by: Barbara Magnusson (Old Friend) on: Jun 30, 2025

  • Condolences to Mark and David during this time in their respective lives. Knowing Theresa from days past, as an neighbour, she was quite the woman, who was so resilient. She was quite the mother and "rose to the occasion" where necessary. To me, she defined what a true, genuine mother is - not afraid to "take the bull by the horns"! I know she will be more than just, "missed". by all who knew her. We grieve with you, David and Mark. - Posted by: Randy Fisher (Family friend) on: Jun 28, 2025

  • Mark, Marisa and family, sorry to hear of your loss. Our deepest Condolences. Reg and Crystal. - Posted by: Reg and Crystal Parkin (neighbour) on: Jun 28, 2025
