HEATHER ANN SHARPE

(nee JONES)

June 8, 1963 - June 26, 2025

It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of our dear mama and wife, Heather Ann Sharpe on June 26, 2025.
Heather was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba to Corinne and Ross Jones, the second of four children, Craig, Nada and Trent. She was compassionate to everyone she met, a quality that helped her find her passion for teaching. She was creative, adventurous and loved being in nature. She played sports throughout her life with many friends and her beloved husband, Doug. Her deepest passion was her family. Her daughters, Tessa, Lindsay and Dylaney were her entire life. She loved them deeply and wanted to give them every experience possible. She was everyone's biggest supporter. Heather will be deeply missed.
Please join us in Heather's Celebration of Life on July 17 at 2:00 p.m. at the First Unitarian Universalist Church at 603 Wellington Crescent.
A photo-biography honouring Heather's life is available in our 'tributes' link below.

  • I'm so sad to hear of the passing of my dear friend Heather. Heather and I taught together and shared a kindergarten classroom for many years at Clifton School. We worked very closely planning and got together every month at Grapes on Kenaston where we planned but mostly gossiped. One of our favourite times together was when we went to see Obama. It was quite memorable. Heather was so excited to go when I asked her. Even after we both retired we kept in touch. Heather always had the warm and caring personality who really enjoyed delving into one's personal life with her earthy views. Doug and girls I know you will miss her terribly and I will too! - Posted by: Carla Nepon (Teaching partner/friend) on: Jul 12, 2025

  • Dear, Dear Heather you fought the great fight. Through you were obviously surrounded by great love through it all you still gave such encouragement, strength and peace to your family. What a great tribute to you that you lived such a full life and gave so much to others. I shall always remember our last deep talk while holding hands and the grace you showed while your deepest concerns were for your family. We hold your family in our arms with love at this very sad and difficult time. Del and Vicky Borgstrom - Posted by: Del and Vicky Borgstrom (Friends) on: Jul 07, 2025

  • My condolences to all the families. Heather and I went to William Osler Elementary together. We also shared the back lane between Borebank and Campbell, which was our universe of exploring, playing games and maybe picking a few vegetables from neighborhood gardens. Heather also taught me how to make a sandwich. Two slices of wonder bread and slather of mayonnaise. Many good memories. - Posted by: Gayla Glow (School friend) on: Jul 06, 2025

  • My Beautiful friend, you will be greatly missed. I was so happy that we were able to reconnect after so many years. Out of tragedy came a renewed friendship that I will always treasure. You were my gold standard for a kind, caring, loving person. You were taken from us way too soon. A butterfly sat on my hand for a very long time last weekend. I feel that it was you telling me that you were OK and pain free. Love always and forever, Karen Y - Posted by: Karen Yamamoto (Friend) on: Jul 05, 2025

  • Dearest condolences to the Family, I have memories of Corinne and the girls coming to Victoria for an Ice skating event Heather was in, we went to the arena and watched Heather race. Then I saw Heather again when we came down for the family reunion. Take care, you are all part of my family even though we don't see each other very often.
