Condolences & Memories (9 entries)

  • I was friends with Steve at the Grace and after retirement we would meet for coffee at Polo Park. So sad to hear of his passing! Wayne Guenther - Posted by: Wayne Guenther (Friend at Grace Hospital) on: Aug 16, 2025

  • Steve was such a special person. He had the warmest greeting, nicest smile and always made us feel welcome whenever we dropped by back when our kids were going to school with Alyssa! We remember him going on long walks for coffee and telling us of his fishing adventures :) One thing you could always count on, was driving down Lindsay St and seeing Steve and Lois in the front on their swing taking in the beautiful day! Thinking of you Lois, Alyssa and all the family and his close friends, sending lots of love - Posted by: Todd and Kim Bjornson (Brock Corydon friends) on: Jul 08, 2025

  • So sorry to read of Steve’s passing. We so appreciated his kindness and care to my elderly mother (Mary Child) when she was in the Grace Hospital. He was so kind and never too busy to make time for her. My sincere sympathy to Lois and family, Mae Stone (Kim’s mom) - Posted by: Mae Stone (Acquaintance) on: Jul 07, 2025

  • Deepest sympathies to you Lois and Alysa, Clare and Barb, Judith and John! I haven’t seen Steve in a number of years but Steve, Clare and myself along with a few other local singles used to spend a lot of time together when we were young adults in Altona. Hanging out at Chicken Delight, and watching MASH at the Braun residence were a few of the “highlights”. Steve was incredibly cheerful friendly guy and when he would come back to Altona to visit, I would bump into him and Lois in the mall and we would always have a good chat! Rest in peace Steve, until we meet again! - Posted by: Maryann ( Enns) Friesen (Friend) on: Jul 06, 2025

  • A childhood memory of Steve… as kids, the cousins would entertain each other when our parents visited and I remember Steve as an older cousin was always warm and respectful. The Braun family has always been very music oriented and I recall one visit when he and Clare were very excited to share their record player and favorite songs with us. I am so very sorry for your loss, Lois and family. - Posted by: Eira (Cousin) on: Jul 05, 2025

  • My condolences to you, Lois and Alyssa. Steve was my neighbor growing up and we spent many summer hours playing together outdoors. It was good to connect with him again, more recently, as well as with you, Lois and Alyssa, when he came to visit his parents here in Altona. He was always eager to visit and we shared stories of the past and the present. So sorry for your loss. Peace and grace to you! - Posted by: Wendy Friesen (Childhood neighbor) on: Jul 05, 2025
