GLADYS JEANETTE FRASER
With sad hearts we announce the passing of our mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister-in-law, aunt and friend, Gladys Fraser on July 11, 2025, at West Park Manor at the age of 89, one month short of her 90th birthday.
She was predeceased by her loving husband Richard in 2022. Lovingly remembered by her children Denise (Darcy), Debra, and Richard (Julie), her grandchildren Justin (Leslie), Shanda (Darin), Emily, Charlotte, and Lorelei and great-grandchildren Jack, Spencer and Peyton.
Mom often referred to herself as a domestic engineer to reflect the years she spent working at home. We would come home from school to the wonderful aroma of fresh baked bread, delicious meals and oh my her doughnuts! There was always room for more at the supper table. In later years she worked at the Charleswood Curling Club which was a perfect fit as she had a passion for curling whether it was playing, watching or working. She looked forward to every curling season and for many years coached and played the perfect game from her recliner! She also enjoyed playing cards and was an avid bingo player and maybe even considered semi-pro!
She was a founding member of the Charleswood Kinettes and made many lifelong friends. Mom was a parishioner and CWL member for many years at Our Lady of Perpetual Help and made many church friends and some who she came to think of as family.
Mom and Dad had the good fortune of 65 years together. They experienced many adventures that included building their own home and cottage and refurbishing an old school bus that took them and their family across Canada. In retirement they enjoyed travelling to the East coast, Las Vegas, Texas, Florida and many places in between.
Funeral mass will be held at Our Lady of Perpetual Help and, 4588 Roblin Boulevard on Monday, July 28 at 11:00 a.m. and will be live-streamed at www.olphwinnipeg.ca
Interment will take place at Assumption Cemetery.

Dear Denise and Debra, It’s with true Understanding and Sympathy with the passing of your Mom. I remember her especially when my husband and children curled at the Club. Her smile was genuine. Choose a memory that brings a smile to your heart and cherish It always. Shirley Thomas ( Lepoder ). - Posted by: Shirley Thomas( Lepoder) (Schoolmate) on: Jul 19, 2025
