Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryLYLE MANSFIELD
Lyle Mansfield passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 24, 2025, at St. Boniface Hospital, surrounded by his family. Lyle was born in Brandon, Manitoba, on June 15, 1947, the son of Ed and Jessie Mansfield. Lyle will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Connie; his brother, Les (Donalee); his sister, Donna (Clare); and his extended family and friends.
Lyle lived a life defined by dedication to his family, his community, and the western way of life. Through Mansfield's Western Shop, he shared his deep knowledge and upheld strong business values of the old way: honesty, respect, and a firm handshake. A true horseman, he found joy in riding, roping, driving his team, and spending time outdoors with the people he loved. He will be remembered for his strength, quick wit, and love for his family and friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held on August 8 at 2:00 p.m. at Connie's home. Please bring a chair and a drink, just as Lyle would have wanted, surrounded by good company and good stories.
In lieu of flowers, those wishing to honour Lyle's life are invited to donate to Funds for Furry Friends or an animal rescue center of their choice.
For those needing directions to the Celebration of Life please email mansfieldlm@outlook.com

Lyle was always so kind to my twin sister, Leanne, and I. Not just at Mansfield’s Western Shop, but at the barn, where he let me ride his cutting horse. So many fond memories and may he rest in peace. Condolences to your family and all the people that had the pleasure of knowing you. - Posted by: Lisa Cancade Hackett (Friend) on: Aug 20, 2025

I may have been among the last to buy a pair of cowboy boots from Lyle? Walking into the store on 18th was always a pleasant experience. From the life size horse mannequin that sat out front to the horse-drawn conveyance hanging from the ceiling to the smell of leather goods that permeated the place! It was a real experience to visit the store. Then there was welcome greeting and that bring-you-to-your-knees handshake. Lyle came to my rescue once when I needed just a bit of leather for one of my projects. And then there was the cowboy boots I was there to buy and the teasing about me being all country music and no horse! After I put the boots on and approved the look and the fit, Lyle told me that they usually ask the customers to run up and down the length of the store a few times to sort of test the fit and break in the boots. I didn’t / couldn’t do that!! Mansfield’s was one of those businesses that helped give the city its uniqueness. Condolences to Connie and extended family. So many fond memories of Lyle when my brother Jim, sisters Eileen and Deb and I knew Lyle at the horse shows and fairs. Wonderful, kind man, with always time for a visit and story. My husband Jim bought many things from the store and was always impressed with Lyle, his parents and brother giving every customer all the time and advice needed. Lyle you will be missed. So sorry Connie for your loss. - Posted by: Brenda Strain (Ranson) (freind) on: Aug 02, 2025
