It is with profound sadness that our family announces the peaceful passing of Dr. John Gilchrist Wade OC FRCPC, on July 17, 2025, at the age of 91.
Cremation has taken place and a celebration of life is being planned for a later date. A longer obituary will follow.

My relationship with John was an extended period as administrative assistant, first when he was Vice-President Medical of the Health Science Centre and then when he was named Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, University of Manitoba. I worked for John at the Health Sciences Centre many years ago. In later years it was always a pleasure running into him on Bannatyne Campus or crossing paths with John and Marilyn at JJ’s store on Hwy 596 when heading out to our cabins. I will remember John as the kind, gentle man and excellent administrator that he was. My Condolences to Marilyn, their children and family.
