GEORGE GRENIER
It is with deep sadness that we announce the sudden passing of George Joseph Grenier on August 3, 2025, at the Grace Hospital at the age of 91years.
He will be re-united with his spouse, Marie-Anna of 58 years of marriage. He leaves behind his sons Real, Florent (Lise): grandchildren Melanie (Cyril) Harry, Justin (Kayla): great-grandchildren, Elizabeth, Kate, Mila, Coraline, Lucien. He also leaves behind many supportive nieces and nephews. George was predeceased by his parents Ferdinand and Ann-Marie.
As an only child, George was proud to be with the Knights of Columbus Goulet Council and accepted his brother knights as her extended brothers. He loved to serve in his community and served on many boards such as Director of Festival of the Voyager, Caisse Populaire, Notre Dame Community Centre and Grand Knight to name a few. He enjoyed his long career with CNR & Via Rail that extended 35 years.
George was a Jumble Puzzle enthusiastic taking this challenge seriously every day. Winnipeg will lose their beloved Jets and Bomber fan and truly behind the Blue Jays predicting a World Series win this year. His greatest pass time was golf as a twenty-five year St. Boniface member.
A memorial Service will be held on Friday, August 8, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. at Desjardins Funeral Home, 357 DesMeurons Street.
We would like to thank Actionmarguerite Saint-Boniface for the care of our dad during his stay.

I’m going to miss our conversations and visits enormously. Growing up our families would get together at times and we always enjoyed these. New Year’s Eve at their place on Thomas Berry brings back memories, I remember going to Saskatchewan and hanging out with our cousins Flo and Rheal. George you will truly be missed! - Posted by: Lucy Stecki (Cousin) on: Aug 08, 2025
