It is with deep sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Alice Laminman of Brandon, Manitoba, on June 30, 2025, at aged 94, at the Wawanesa Personal Care Home, surrounded by family and loving caregivers.
Alice was born on June 22, 1931, in Holmfield, Manitoba, the daughter of Stanley and Margaret Stouffer. She grew up on the family farm and in town before moving to Brandon in 1949.
In Brandon, Alice worked as a bookkeeper for Stephen Magnacca and later at McKenzie Seeds, where she met her future husband, Lloyd Laminman. They married on October 9, 1958, and together raised four children: daughter Linda, daughter Shari Lee with husband Kelly (their daughter Kayla with husband Cliff and children Casey and Hudson, their son Shaun and partner Sophie), son Brent (his son Derek with wife Vanessa and children Connor and McKenna and his son Triston), son Daryn with wife Kristal, (their daughter Brittany with husband Graham, son Brendan and partner Katie).
After raising her family, Alice returned to the workforce, serving as a dedicated school bus driver with Brandon School Division for 23 years. Family was central to her life—she supported all of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren in their endeavors and cherished the close bonds she formed with them. She was a fixture on the sidelines, in the stands, and the concert halls cheering and supporting our sports and extracurricular activities. She was an avid sports fan enjoying hockey, curling, football, and baseball. She was a Wheat Kings fan who held season tickets for many years and streamed the games when she could no longer attend in person.
Alice loved to travel and was a woman with many creative talents and enjoyed hobbies including crafts, ceramics, stained glass, quilting, and singing with the Women in Harmony choir. Her friendships were deeply valued—especially with her fellow lady bus drivers, friends at Lions Manor, and members of her singing group.
She was preceded in death by her husband Lloyd and daughter Linda, and is survived by Shari, Brent, Daryn, their spouses, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, her brother Lew Stouffer, many special nieces and nephews, and an extended circle of friends and family.
Alice’s legacy of warmth, creativity, kindness, and family devotion will live on in the hearts of all who were touched by her life.
A private family interment was held at Brandon Cemetery on July 7, 2025.
A public Celebration of Life will take place on August 14, 2025 at 2:00 PM, at Memories Chapel, 330 18th Street North, Brandon, MB, R7A 7P3.
All who knew and loved her are warmly invited to attend.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Alice’s memory may be made to the Wawanesa Personal Care Home – Activities (506 George Street, Wawanesa, MB R0K 2G0), whose compassionate care she and her family deeply appreciated.
