After a life well lived - Heather passed away surrounded by love on the morning of Saturday, August 2, 2025 at the age of 95 years.
She led a full and meaningful life and always said she sure got her money’s worth.
Heather Margaret Trencher was born on March 12,1930 in Southport England.
She is predeceased by her sisters, Vera, Joan, and brother Edward, only daughter Linda (2005) and husband Jim (2013).
Heather married Jim on her Birthday in 1949, sharing 64 years of adventures together. Their daughter Linda was born April 8th,1952. Heather and Jim lived in many places including Crosby, Liverpool, England, Rogart, Scotland, Ottawa, Ontario, Beausejour and Winnipeg, Manitoba.
Heather worked at the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada in Ottawa and enjoyed working at the West Lancashire Golf Club in Blundellsands, Liverpool, England. Heather was a gifted writer and was thrilled to be able to read one of her stories on the BBC. Her many articles and short stories were published in England, Scotland and Canada.
Her sisters were very important to her; over the years, she made trips to England sometimes twice a year to visit with them and their families.
Heather and Jim adored their only daughter Linda and would visit her anytime they could in Toronto, going on many vacations together over the years. She always spoke how lucky she was to spend many winter months with her husband Jim in Hawaii - a place she loved.
She was a voracious reader and would share her enthusiasm of antiquarian books, and passion for the many antiques she collected. Being a sports fan - Heather loved rooting for her Winnipeg Jets and Toronto Blue Jays - her knowledge of players and coaches was amazing and would astonish many a sports fan. Casino trips were something she always looked forward to, as well as a good bingo game with friends.
Riverside Lions Estates had been her home for years where she made many lifelong friendships. She will be missed by her best friend Jean, Kay, Pat, Les, Irene, and coffee buddies. We are deeply grateful to Bert who provided Heather with lovely meals she so enjoyed and looked forward to. She will be forever missed by Cindi and Barry, her favourite hairstylist Liz, and Don, grandson Adam, Crysta and Matthew, niece Fiona, Stuart and sister Barbara in Scotland.
Heather will be lovingly remembered by her generous nature, wit, wonderful smile, infectious laugh, all things cross-stitch, her knitted sweaters, Quality Street candies, and her delicious jams and jellies.
Cremation has taken place. A life so beautifully lived deserves to be beautifully remembered. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, August 13, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. at Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd. Come have a cup of tea with us, Heather would love that.
