DEENA KERRY WAHL

(KNYSH, HUEBERT)

September 24, 1955 - July 31, 2025

It is with sadness and heavy hearts we announce the sudden passing of our beloved mother on Thursday, July 31, 2025, at the age of 69, at the St. Paul's Hospital in Vancouver, BC.

Mom was born September 24, 1955, in Lynn Lake, MB. She attended school in Lynn Lake and Winnipeg. After graduation Mom attended Herzing College in Winnipeg acquiring her Paralegal training.

Mom spent her earlier years of life in Winnipeg, moving out to BC and settling in Whitehorse, Yukon in the 1990s. She retired from the Yukon government which gave her time to enjoy her hobbies and spend time with family.

Many of Mom's joys in life was spending time with her grandchildren, Magnus who she recently built a whittling bench with and Tyana who she loved to pick mushrooms with. She enjoyed quilting, sewing and later in life gardening and finding new recipes to try out on us. Mom also enjoyed coming up with her dream plans for the farm outside of Whitehorse.

Mom was predeceased by her parents, Melford Charles Wahl and Evelyn Fern Knysh, stepfather Stephen Knysh, brothers, Scott and Troy Knysh, stepbrother Ronnie Knysh, and sister-in-law Lise Vielfaure.

With her passing, Mom will be lovingly remembered by her daughters, Crystal Huebert (Brent), grandson Magnus of Whitehorse and Tiffany Huebert (Bernie) of Whitehorse, granddaughter Tyana, her sister Brendyce Sararas (Brian), her brother Jay Knysh (Amanda) of Winnipeg, MB, stepbrothers, Randy, Richard, Raymond, Rodney Knysh (Darlene) and their families, along with many other extended family members.

As requested by Mom no formal service will be held. Cremation has taken place and a private family interment will take place in Whitehorse, Yukon at a later date.

In memory of Mom, donations to the Downtown UrbanGardeners' Society-DUGS in Whitehorse, Yukon or the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Manitoba would be appreciated.
