JOE GERSTMAR
With sadness and heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Joe Gerstmar on Saturday, August 16, 2025, at his home.
Left to mourn are his wife Jane, son Craig and wife Brenda, grandson Sam and wife Shaylee, and great-grandson Conrad, granddaughter Jessica and husband Rob Belanger, nephews, Kirby and wife Joanne, Brian and wife Annie, Rob Casale, cousins, Dorthy Shelby and Gloria Wancha.
He was predeceased by his brother Ken and wife Kim, their two daughters, Dawn and Darlene and his infant sister Violet.
We have all had a Great Life with him at the helm. He has looked after us all his life and we each have our fond memories to cherish. We Love you and we will miss you.
We wish to thank Dr. Brett Houston and her great team at CancerCare; the nurses at the out-patient clinic in Selkirk Hospital as they took such good care of both of us and the palliative care team of Laura and Dr. Clark for being there for us in the last few days with such care and guidance. For Andrea who has been with us through this journey with her love and prayers.
As per his wishes there will be a private family burial at a later date.

Got to know Joe at Manitoba Pool Elevators. He always spoke lovingly of his family and home. I was hoping to reconnect with him at some time to catch up and to see how the spruce trees I’d brought him from our farm had turned out. Condolences to his family.
