Doug and I had the privilege of working together at Transport Canada for many years, during which time we shared countless experiences across this vast and beautiful country — from the breathtaking Arctic landscapes to the vibrant coasts of Vancouver and St. John's, Newfoundland. Those journeys were more than work trips; they were moments of discovery, camaraderie, and reflection, made more meaningful by Doug’s warm presence. Doug was a kind and gentle soul who brought strength to every challenge and a generous spirit to everyone he met. He truly enjoyed life, and his passion for helping others, particularly in the environmental field, left a lasting impact. Many owe their success in part to Doug's guidance, encouragement, and unwavering support. He will be deeply missed, not only as a trusted colleague but as a great friend. Doug’s legacy lives on in the work he championed and in the many lives he touched. May he rest in peace I will miss you my friend. - Posted by: Bill Ferguson (Friend and Colleague) on: Aug 24, 2025
