Carmen Rice, nee Estevez, was born in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, on July 23, 1953. She departed from this life in Winnipeg, Manitoba, on August 28, 2025.
She is survived by her husband of 36 years, Edward Rice, who mourns her loss, along with their daughter, Lissette Rice-Estevez, and her beloved grandchildren: Isalya, Euan, Uriah, and Aury. Carmen is also remembered by her brothers, sisters, and numerous friends. Her dog, Chaina, will feel her absence profoundly.
Carmen was deeply committed to her family and always strived to bring joy to their lives. We warmly invite friends to come together with the family for the burial service, which will take place at St. Vital Cemetery on September 9, 2025, at 11:00 a.m.
Instead of flowers, we kindly ask that you consider making a donation in Carmen's memory to the ALS Society of Canada, as it is crucial that we work towards finding a cure for this horrible, debilitating disease.
