CLARA ANN MAY MCKAY

(nee BELL)

Clara Ann May McKay (nee Bell), age 86, of Winnipeg, Manitoba, passed away peacefully on August 22, 2025. She was born July 1, 1939, in Cypress Hill, MB, to Annie and Harry Bell.

Clara was a woman whose presence could light up any room. With her kind and strong spirit, she never hesitated to speak her truth - whether it was through her laughter, her warmth, or those moments when she firmly let you know exactly where you stood. She lived her life to the fullest, always in her own way, and those who knew her were blessed by her honesty, her humour, and her love.

Her heart belonged deeply to her family. She shared a beautiful life and marriage with her husband, Ralph Brian McKay (predeceased, married April 1969), and found endless joy in her daughter Donna McKay, her grandchildren, Danielle Fawcett, Kristina Loewen, and her beloved great-grandchildren. She was also cherished by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and their families. She was predeceased by her grandson, Aaron McKay, who now rests with her.

Clara was also predeceased by her brothers, George (Joan) and Arthur (Pat), and is survived by her brother John (Melvina). She has now been reunited with her husband Ralph and her loving parents, Annie and Harry Bell, along with those who went before her. We find comfort in knowing she is at peace, smiling together with her loved ones in Heaven.

She will be remembered as an amazing woman who carried beauty, strength, and laughter through every season of her life.

Memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 20, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. in the Gilbart Funeral Chapel, 309 Eveline St., Selkirk, MB.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Clara’s name can be made to CancerCare or the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
