Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryDIANE BELCHER
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Diane on Saturday, August 30, 2025.
Diane will be sadly missed by her husband Doug; her sister, Maureen Danzinger; her nieces Norinne (Wes) Dueck and Joanna Danzinger (Thaddeus Conrad); great niece and nephews EmilyAnn (Brian Sterriker), Eric and Mason Dueck and step children Dale (Laura Strickland) and Lisa Belcher.
Diane was predeceased by her parents, Micheal and Ann Golich, her brother, Maurice “Sonny” Golich, her brother-in-law, Gordon Danzinger and her Aunt, Stephanie Dembowski.
Diane was born December 18, 1946, and spent the majority of her youth on the family farm in North Springfield. In her late teens, the family moved to Inkster Boulevard in Winnipeg where Diane completed her education at Technical Vocational High School. Her early career days were spent working at the Fire Commissioners Office in the Norquay Building. She spent many years in the department, then transferring to the Research Department with the Department of Labour until she retired in 2002.
In 1983, Diane met Doug and seemingly “hit it off” and by September 8, 1984, they wed. The next 40 years consisted of working, exploring the outdoors by bike, canoe, hiking and xc skiing. They enjoyed travelling by auto and train all over Canada. Diane joined Doug in volunteering for many organizations including the Prairie Dog Central. She enjoyed many summers at the family cottage at Sandy Hook.
Diane was a very generous, loving person, donating to various charities. She was very proud of her great niece and nephews, always attending graduations, concerts and events. In her early years she enjoyed playing the piano and she loved it when they came to play for her.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, September 8, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel (1442 Main Street). A reception with refreshments to follow. A private family interment will take place at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Diane’s memory may be made to a charity of your choice.
