CAROL ANTROBUS

Carol Antrobus of Winnipeg passed away July 21, 2025. She fearlessly battled cancer for more than two years before finally deciding to take a well-deserved rest.

She leaves behind her partner, Clark, who can't find the words to tell you how fabulous she was. She also leaves her children, Corrina and Alaia, stepchild Toran, mother Kay, brother Kevin (with his partner Leanne and children, Mason and Tessa), sister Karen (with her partner Richard and child Erik). She was predeceased by her beloved father Paul - and hopefully has reunited with him wherever she has now gone.

Born in India January 8, 1966, Carol resided in Kitchener and then Regina as a child. She moved to Winnipeg to attend the University of Manitoba (U of M) - and never left either place. She transitioned from a student at the U of M to staff, and was the face of the Computers on Campus at the bookstore for decades, making a positive impact on thousands of staff, co-workers, and students during her time there.

Carol tirelessly spread kindness, light, and understanding, and will be deeply missed by everyone who knew her. She loved tai chi, music, gardening, and long walks through beautiful places. With her passing the world now has a need for more people to hug both people and trees. Carol would encourage anyone reading this to open their heart and take up that call: there is no reason the person spreading joy can't be you.

In honour of Carol's deep love for nature, a celebration of her life will be held at Buffalo Crossing at Fort Whyte Alive on Sunday, October 5, at 2:00 p.m. Carol would want you to experience the beauty of nature yourself afterward, so please dress for a walk through Fort Whyte rather than a funeral.

In lieu of flowers, consider a donation to CancerCare Manitoba Foundation - the support they provided didn't just keep Carol from dying for two years: it let her live life to its fullest right until her final days. Her family is forever grateful for the extra hugs, smiles and laughter Carol shared with us in that time.
