In Loving Memory of Roy Chaitram
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Roy Chaitram, who left us on August 27, 2025.
Roy was born in Grenada on September 25, 1944, and grew up in Trinidad. In 1970, he immigrated to Canada with his wife Shirley and daughter Deborah, settling in Winnipeg. Roy began his career at CN Rail, where he worked his way up to the role of Quality Control Inspector. His drive for success later led him to pursue a career in autobody repair, eventually owning his own business on Logan Avenue.
Roy was predeceased by his beloved wife Shirley, who passed away on February 23, 2025. He is survived by his children Deborah, Francine, and Kris; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Despite health challenges in his later years, Roy remained active, often found tinkering in his garage and fixing cars. He will be remembered for his sense of humor, kindness, and generosity.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, September 19, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. at Voyage Funeral Home, located at 220 Hespeler Ave., Winnipeg, MB.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Roy's memory to the Canadian Mental Health Association, Winnipeg Manitoba.
