Dr. Peter Spencer, of Winnipeg, Manitoba, passed away at the Middlechurch Home on September 8, 2025, at the age of 87 years.
He is survived by his wife Geraldine (Geri), brothers Tim and Hugh, sister Nancy and their families.

Peter was my Drama teacher, favourite teacher at River East Collegiate 1974-77, In many ways, he inspired me to pursue theatre after graduation, which I did for over 40 years. After graduation and doing a very simple production, Peter invited us to collaborate on the musical Man of La Mancha. He was a very special person whom I was privileged to know and work with. I got to know Peter through my piano lessons with his wife, Geri. As I entered my adult life, I had travelled with this wonderful couple to England and shared their love of musical theatre. Peter was also a close friend of my parents as he and Geri had accompanied them on their honeymoon and taught with them at River East Collegiate. I always admired Peter for his love theatre education and his interest in my own musical journey as an educator. He was such an advocate for the arts.
