LEONARD RIVERS
With heavy hearts on Thursday, September 25, 2025, Leonard passed away after a brief illness.
Leonard will be greatly missed and lovingly remembered by his wife Valerie.
He is survived by his brother Brian (Linda), sisters Pat and Barbara, Jackie, Darren.
Leonard is also survived by Janice (Ben), Yvonne (Robin, Joel), Stephanie (Darren), (Paisley and Avery), Sylvia and Eugene, Bob, Merna (Ron), Lorna, Lorraine (Rob), Shannon (Shawn) and Carla (Chris). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Leonard had great friendships with special friends, Syd Collette, Tim Harlos and Kent Wesley.
He was predeceased by his parents, Merlin and Julie, and brother Bobby.
Leonard grew up in Oakbank, MB and in his early years he moved to Transcona where he resided with his wife Valerie.
He was employed with the railway CN/VIA for 36 years, he loved driving the train and had many great memories.
Leonard had a passion for fishing, snowmobiling and motorcycles.
After retirement, he enjoyed gardening, cooking, loved making Chinese food and great cheesecake. He enjoyed many family gatherings and dinners.
Leonard had a real affection for animals especially his family pets, Cricket and Spencer, who he loved dearly.
Cremation has taken place as per Leonard's wishes.
A Celebration of Life is planned on Saturday, October 4, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1800 Day Street, Winnipeg, MB.
You have left a void in our hearts that cannot be filled. A good man gone too soon who loved us deeply and unconditionally, and we will carry our memories of you always.
Until we meet again, Rest in Peace.
You will always be Loved.
