I remember Mt.Asper very well. I used to wait on him and his family in the sixties at the Pancake House on Pembina Hwy. They were such a lovely family. We think he was such a devoted Canadian. We still talk about him in our family about how he could have lived anywhere in the world , and he chose to live in Winnipeg. He did more for this city than anyone in history. He was a visionary and philanthropist , and a devoted family man. I can remember the day I voted for him,and was so sad when his party lost. I can remember the day he died and I stood outside at his funeral. Thank God his beautiful family still lives in Winnipeg. I think the museum of human rights should be named after Izzy Asper.
