I would guess this is one of the very few hunting seasons that you have missed in the last 70 odd years. I am very sorry that I didn't stay in contact after Joe passed but I thought of you often. So many great memories of our many trips to Gammon River, Deloraine and few others. I'm quietly laughing to myself as the memories of the many "Wendell-isms" pop onto my mind. "Free Fud" "Murray didn't make it" "nice jugs" "Husky Jerk" and smashing the clock radio with a 10 lb tow hook and then saying" it's OK, it was mine" (Don't worry folks, you had to be there to know what I mean). And "playing" with the ground squirrels at Lake of the Prairies and having one of them sneak into your tent and shit on your pillow. That was a classic! But those times have passed and growing old is a bitch. Love you buddy and I'll see you again in the "Happy Hunting Grounds" - Posted by: Reyner Smith (Friend and hunting buddy) on: Oct 12, 2025
