MIKE MOTZ
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Mike, a beloved father, grandfather, and friend, who left us peacefully on October 4, 2025.
Mike was born to parents, Katherine and John in Winnipeg's North End in March of 1936. Mike had a passion for sport - he was an avid golfer and, earlier in life, a dedicated fastball player. Whether on the green or the diamond, he found joy in the game and camaraderie with teammates and friends. A personal highlight was his hole-in-one, witnessed by his three sons. He was also an accomplished carpenter, creating most of the woodwork in the family home.
He was predeceased by his cherished wife, Shirley, with whom he shared many wonderful years. He leaves behind his three sons: Mike Jr. (Linda), Dave, and Tim (Paula), along with five grandkids - James, Nathan, Kendra, Lucas and Ethan.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to CancerCare Manitoba Foundation in his name.
