Albert Ward Hochbaum, age 83, formerly of Ashern, Manitoba, passed away peacefully at St. Boniface Hospital Cardiac Ward October 14, 2025.
A proud Manitoban who devoted his life and career as a conservation officer, protecting the wildlife, lakes, rivers and forests across the province he so loved. He is survived by his children Jo-Anne (Ian) Cushon, Molly Hochbaum, Susan Hochbaum, grandchildren Liam and Anna, brother Peter Hochbaum, sister Trudi (Barry) Heal. He was predeceased by his infant son Joseph, wife of his children Marlene (nee Naherny) Hochbaum, wife Carol Hochbaum, brother George Hochbaum and parents Hans Albert and Joan (nee Ward) Hochbaum.
In keeping with Albert’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a memorial service celebrating his life will be held on Saturday, October 25, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. in the Coutu Funeral Home, 680 Archibald Street with reception to follow.
