CAROL BRISTOW
We feel empty as we announce the sudden passing of our dear Wife, Mom, and Grandma on October 13, 2025.
Although 84 years of age, Carol continued to bring unmatched energy, enthusiasm, devotion, and compassion to others. She lived with a beautiful blend of ambitious spirit and forgiving grace as she was guided by the Holy Spirit. Carol had an unwavering faith in God, and remained steadfast in relying on this faith and sharing it with others. Her family takes some comfort in knowing that she is now in her Heavenly Home with her Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.
Carol will be dearly missed by her husband of 61 years Gerry, son Jason, daughter Kristin (Jeff), two precious grandchildren Joshua and Annika, and grandpup Milo. She is also survived by her sister Siv, two nephews Brent and Brad (Cindy), and many other close relatives. Carol’s companionship will also be dearly missed by many cherished friends. Carol was predeceased by her father John, mother Mary, special brother-in-law Darol, two stepbrothers-in-law Larry and Ralph, and her mini schnauzer pack (Fritz I, Fritz II, and Tobi).
We would like to thank members of the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service who promptly assisted Carol in her home. We especially appreciate the numerous staff members at the Health Sciences Centre who provided consistently excellent clinical and tender care to Carol. They also didn’t hesitate to extend their care to Gerry and Kristin who remained with Carol in hospital until her final breath. A special thank you to: the emergency room physicians, on-call neurologists and neurosurgeons, GB 2 staff (Drs. R. Alarakhia and M. Pelletier, nurses, and the assistants), the palliative care team headed by Dr. B. Debroni, and Spiritual Health Services practitioners. We are so grateful for your sincere compassion, wisdom, patience, and support.
A service will be held for Carol at Grant Church (877 Wilkes Avenue in Winnipeg) on Thursday, November 13, 2025 at 2:00 p.m.
To honour Carol’s selfless giving, one may consider donations to: Union Gospel Mission Winnipeg, Samaritan’s Purse Canada, or the Winnipeg Humane Society.

Dear Carol It is hard to believe I will not see your beautiful smile and warm welcome any more. You occupied so much space around us with your kind ness compassion simplicity and your delightful presence that your sudden unexpected absence is shocking and painful to all that got to know you, especially your family..It will be a very hard journey for Gerry Kristin and the rest of the family to accept your absence. Your calm sense of dignity ,thoughtfulness and the ability to find pleasure from little things of the life was infectious. You left your legacy of sacrifice and kindness with Kristin whom I came to know very recently . I know wherever you are,you are in the best possible place . Pray and hope Gerry, Kristin and rest of your family get the patience and courage to overcome your profound absence. I feel your invisible presence around Gerry , Kristin and the rest of the family now and forever. You loved them so much that you could never leave them. May God place you in the highest heaven. - Posted by: Roksana Dultay (Friend) on: Nov 01, 2025

The last time I spent with my little sister was just a few days before her stroke. It was in Calgary the night before They would be returning home. I was very anxious about my move from my home in Calgary to a seniors residence in Cochrane to be closer to my two sons and daughter-in-law. Before they turned in for the night Carol insisted Gerry take her to see me once more. She wanted to talk and pray with me about my reluctance and and anxiety to move. I will always be thankful for that. I do believe their trip to Calgary was a gift from God for Jason and my family. Sylvia or “Siv” the name Carol gave me when she couldn’t pronounce Sylvia - Posted by: Sylvia Clue (Sister) on: Oct 26, 2025
