ELIZABETH (BETTE) NAULT

June 25, 1929 - October 10, 2025

Elizabeth (Bette) Nault passed away peacefully on October 10, 2025, at the age of 96 at Oakview Place.

She was predeceased by her parents John and Helen Powroznik, her husband Lucien (Pierre) Nault and sister Natalie (Stan) Anders and Anne (Cecil) McLaughlin.

She is remembered by her only child, Debra (Gordon) Preece; her granddaughters, Lindsay (Steven) Figueiredo and Ashley Preece; her great-grandchildren, Joshuah Figueiredo and Madeline Figueiredo; niece Darlene (Wally) Hamm (Sask); nephew Donald (Peggy) Anders; nephew Robert (Heather) McLaughlin (NB); great nieces and nephews.

Born in Dauphin, MB, Bette moved to Winnipeg and attended Kelvin High School. She was baptized as a Jehovah's Witness at the age of 17. Bette believed in the hope of resurrection.

Bette dedicated her entire adult life working for the federal and provincial governments. She began her career as a clerk and retired as a secretary from the Department of Special Education at 1181 Portage Ave.

Bette met her husband, Pierre (the young hockey player), on a blind date. They were married on September 1, 1949, for 58 years until Pierre's death. As a family Bette and Debra enjoyed attending his hockey and baseball games.

Alongside Pierre, she was a long-time member of Bel Acres Golf and Country Club. In her younger years she enjoyed curling and had a passion for gardening, her favourite being roses in the summer and orchids in the winter.

The family extends their heartfelt thanks to the staff at Oakview Place for their kindness and compassion, especially Suzanne for her excellent care and understanding. A special thank you is also extended to her wonderful neighbours on Twain Drive for their loving kindness.

Cremation has taken place. Bette and Pierre will be reunited on Monday at Chapel Lawn Cemetery. No service will be held.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Bette's name to the Canadian Cancer Society.
