Kristian was born to Kirstina and Axel Larsen in Bording Denmark on December 28, 1925. Kristian passed away on October 9, 2025, at Hillcrest Place Personal Care Home in Brandon Manitoba.
Kristian was 2 months short of his 100th birthday. At 22 ½ years old Kristian left a teaching position at a Denmark Orphanage and immigrated to Canada. He wanted to take a couple of years to travel, explore and to practice the English language. (a young man’s dream). Kris became quite fond of the wide-open spaces and the friendly people in Canada. He decided to make Canada his newfound home.
Kristian started out his career as a bush pilot in British Columbia. Over the years he worked in Logging and Sawmilling, Construction, and the Farming Industries. He eventually returned to Construction and started Larsen’s Construction where he built and renovated homes. Kristian held his pilot’s license for over 50 years. He enjoyed flying his own aircraft throughout Western Canada and into various parts of the USA. He also belonged to Search and Rescue Clubs in Prince George, and in Victoria B.C. While in Manitoba he continued as a pilot for CASARA Civil Search and Rescue Association under the RCAF wing of Trenton, Ontario. Kristian was a member of the Sons of Norway, Eidsvold Lodge 53, in Victoria, British Columbia. He was also a member of the Brandon Flying Club and Commonwealth Air Museum.
Kristian was predeceased by his wife of 41 years Helen. He is survived by his son Bruce, daughter Barbara (son in law Terry) Mueller, grandsons Christopher (Tamika), David (Amanda), great-grandsons Kayden, Benjamin, William, and great-granddaughter Nora.
