DENIS NADEAU

July 30, 1929 - October 17, 2025

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Denis Nadeau on Friday, October 17, 2025, at the Villa Youville in Ste. Anne, Manitoba., at the age of 96.

Denis will be greatly missed by his wife of 74 years, Eliane (née Gauthier), and their children Line (Armand Leclerc), Ginette (Kenneth Funk), Robert (Monique Nadeau), Alain (Anne Bédard), Carmelle (feu Barry MacNeil), Colette (Rudolf Hausammann) as well as his large family of 21 grandchildren and 40 great-grandchildren. He leaves to mourn brothers Gualbert (Rita Laramée) and Antonin (feu Rose-Marie Gagnon) and sister Emma (Maurice Gaudet), in-laws Stella Carver, Jeannette Champagne, Jean Gauthier, Monique Gauthier, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his loving parents, Wilfrid Gualbert and Maria (Fournier), first born son (at birth) Alain Joseph, brother Paul, sisters Clémence and husband Laurent Himbeault and Sr. Thérese, great-grandchild Dawson Nadeau and many brothers and sisters-in-law.

Denis was born in Somerset, Manitoba on July 30, 1929, to Maria and Wilfrid Gualbert Nadeau. The Nadeau family moved to La Broquerie in 1939, and he spent the rest of his life in the community which he loved dearly. He married Eliane Gauthier on May 24, 1951, and they raised their family of six on a dairy farm near town. The community was always a priority for him. He worked very hard toward its growth, whether that was contributing to the construction of the schools, arena, Le Chalet and golf course. But above all, he was a dairy farmer at heart, at a young age he took pride in his partnership with his brothers, and then starting his own farm and herd with his wife and family.

Up until a few weeks ago his favorite pastime was going for a ride to see the state of the fields, the farms, and the general beauty of nature. He loved just sitting outside basking in the sun.

His main source of pride was his large and loving family. His face lit up when the little ones came for visits. The most special treat was going for rides in/on the golf cart in his big yard. He was very proud about how everyone loved and respected each other. That was his lifelong value, be kind to each other.

Dad will always be known for his big contagious smile!

We would like to thank all of the people who assisted him with great respect and compassion in the last year, both at Le Chalet and at the Villa Youville. We are forever grateful for your kindness.

The memorial service will be held on Monday, October 27, 2025, at 11:00 a.m., at St. Joachim Roman Catholic Church, La Broquerie, Manitoba.
