ALAN HENRY THOMASON

December 22, 1941 - October 18, 2025

Following a long and fulfilling life, Alan went to his rest, peacefully with his family by his side.

Left to mourn his passing is his loving wife and soulmate of 64 years, Sandra; as well as their three children, Wendy (Derek), Jamie (Brenda) and Michelle (Sean). 'Grandad' will be sorely missed and forever loved and remembered by his treasured five grandchildren, Cory (Brittany), Robert (Candi), Zackary, Julia and Avery.

In keeping with Alan’s wishes, no service will be held, and cremation has taken place.

Should you wish to honour his memory and reflect on how Alan touched your lives, the family would appreciate a memory shared in the tributes section.

What you leave behind is not what is engraved in stone monuments, but what is woven into the lives of others. – Pericles

Condolences & Memories (4 entries)

  • Although we lost touch, there are so many memories of Al - his infectious laugh, his amazing memory in card games and his outbursts of ‘Bollucks!” Kindest regards and deepest sympathies to you, Sandy, and all your family. - Posted by: Sandy Birss (Friend and neighbour) on: Oct 27, 2025

  • Al was a great partner in our working years, always had a cheerful outlook on life. Certainly will miss the BRIT humor, although due to Al's health concerns the last few months, we didn't socialize as often as we had been with Al, Rick and Bob. R.I.P. Al. - Posted by: Gordon W Dalik (employee colleague) on: Oct 27, 2025

  • I was very fortunate to marry into this family, insinuating myself about 20 years ago. My first impression of Al a man that is warm, fiercely intelligent with a sharp active wit. I also found him to be extremely curious about all things. He used these formidable strengths to improve his awareness and understanding of the world and to connect deeply with others. I loved talking to Al, something we did often, even when he was struggling. I could always rely on a rich and well considered conversation, filled with humour and keen insight. We got into the habit of reading the same books and talking about them; there were always insights I missed, Al never did; never. I often learned something through our discussions. I will dearly miss Al’s broad intellectual acuity and genuine unselfish warmth; I will always be grateful for those 20 years. Love you Al - Posted by: Sean Gander (father-in-law) on: Oct 26, 2025

  • Al was a good friend and neighbour. He was a good person, and will be sadly missed. So sorry for your loss Sandy and family. Love Ron - Posted by: Ron DeWit (Friend and neighbour) on: Oct 26, 2025
