LYDIA KOSZELA
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Lydia Koszela on October 24, 2025 with her family by her side. Lydia is survived by her loving husband of 53 years, Jim. She was the eldest of three daughters, Helen (Les) Moszkiewicz and Irena (Paul) Boyko.
She was also close with her cousin Jozef (Mary) Hartleb. Lydia’s greatest treasure was the love she had for her family. Her numerous godchildren, nieces and nephews had a special place in Ciocia’s heart. She always had a special treat for the little ones. Lydia shared a special bond with her sister’s kids and grandkids; goddaughter Yvonne Moszkiewicz (Ren), niece Eva Moszkiewicz (Dan) and Sophie and Lukas. She warmly talked about the many friends she made spending summers at Big Whiteshell, often referring to them as “The Lake People”.
Lydia was predeceased by her parents Roman and Maria Kisiel.
The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses at Asper Institute for their kindness and compassionate care.
Service will be held on Wednesday, November 5, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Ghost Church, 341 Selkirk Ave. with internment to follow at Holy Ghost Cemetery.
