MULLINS: Fabian (Fab) Rudolf, passed away in Kelowna, BC on October 28, 2025, at the age of 92 years in the Kelowna General Hospital. Fab enjoyed a good life, the early years in St. Anne Manitoba and Winnipeg until 2006 when he and Bernice moved to Kelowna to be closer to their daughter’s family.
Fab was predeceased by his wife Bernice in 2022, daughter-in-law Joan Lyons in 2021, daughter Dawn Byron in 2023. Fab is survived by his son Chris Simcoe, son-in-law Wayne Byron, granddaughter Lori (Ken) Unger and great-grandchildren Lily Dawn and Lucas Byron Unger.
Fab worked for many years at the city of Winnipeg Water and Waste Department, lastly as superintendent. His pride and joy were the cottage at Patricia Beach (Valhalla). He cleared the property, designed and built the cottage with his own hands from scratch, including a fieldstone fireplace.
Valhalla was the location for many happy hours, sunsets on the deck, campfires and countless card games on the veranda. He always enjoyed a dram or two of whiskey. May he now rest in peace. Special thanks to the Kelowna General Hospital, ER and unit 4A and the Cottonwoods short stay unit.
At the request of Fab, no service will be held, with cremation taking place.
