Alice Rebecca Yerex passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 1, 2025.
Alice was born and raised on a farm near Franklin, MB. She was the daughter of Alfred Yerex and Clara Blough. Alice attended Neepawa Collegiate and later nursing school in Brandon. She loved helping and caring for people and found her vocation as a nurse, serving more than 40 years in the operating room and later in administration at the Brandon General Hospital (BGH). Alice was a founding member of the BGH comedy club and delighted in participating in comedy routines for the benefit of the hospital staff.
Alice was a great animal lover throughout her life she cared for many dogs, cats, rabbits, deer, and her horse Duchess. She helped establish and outfit the east end dog park and was featured in the Brandon Sun for her efforts.
Alice is pre-deceased by her parents and her brother Elton. She is loved and forever in the memory of her niece Catherine Yerex (Jean-Yves Dumaine) and Elizabeth Yerex (Paul Van Brug) and their children James, Victoria, and Charlotte. She will be remembered by her many cousins, particularly Carol, Carson, and Grace Yerex.
Thank you to Kevin Rose, Ashley Samson, and Irene and Dennis Magwood for their care and assistance. Thank you also to the dedicated nursing staff of the BGH who cared for Alice.
