Peacefully on November 7, 2025, Irene Weidner aged 102, formerly of Moosehorn, MB, passed away at the Ashern Personal Care Home.
Mom married Emil Weidner on November 19, 1947. They lived in Spearhill, MB until 1959. They purchased a farm in New Home which was sold in 1973, then moved to Moosehorn, MB. Irene was a resident of the Senior Villa in Moosehorn in early 1990 and lived there until April 2011 when she moved into the Ashern Personal Care Home.
Irene was predeceased by her parents, Heinrich and Hulda Haupt; a son and daughter in infancy; siblings, Ruth (in infancy), Angela Kiesman, Paul Haupt, Esther Kaus and Eddie Haupt as well as her husband Emil.
Irene is survived by her son Alvin (Rosanne) of Thunder Bay, ON, daughters, Janice (Jim) Claggett of Red Deer, AB, Donna Major (Brad) of Winnipeg, MB, grandchildren, Taryn and Evan Claggett and Tyler Weidner along with numerous nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 15, 2025, in the Peace Lutheran Church, Moosehorn, MB with Dawn Tober officiating. Interment will follow in the New Home Cemetery, Moosehorn, MB.

The family would like to thank all the doctors and nurses at the Lakeshore General Hospital, Ashern and all the Care Home staff that gave our Mom such wonderful care over the past 14 years. Also thanks to John Gray and staff of Arnason Funeral Home for their kindness and care. Thank you to all the friends and family that have visited with Mom over the past 14 years. A special thank you to Dawn Tober who was very special to our mother through her visits and quiet prayer times which were very dear to Mom. We feel her strong belief and faith provided her with such a long life.
