It is with sadness and a deep sense of loss that I learn of David’s passing. I offer sincere condolences to Gloria, and to all the family. I came to know David through our mutual Welsh heritage. David was proud of his Welsh heritage , and celebrated it by his membership in the Welsh Society of Manitoba. He participated enthusiastically in the activities of the Society, accompanied by an equally enthusiastic Gloria. Over the years, David served on the Society’s Executive, and sang with the St David’s Singers (the Society’s choir). He faithfully attended the annual March 1st celebration for Dewi Sant (St David, patron saint of Wales), with Gloria (often outfitted in traditional Welsh costume). More often than not, David was one of the solo performers at that function, adding his own unique touch to the featured song or poem. David’s autobiography (2011) “Bibby’s Journey. Sorrow to Happiness and Tragedy to Triumph” demonstrates how David overcame so many life challenges to become the fine ,generous,multi-talented yet humble human being that we came to know and appreciate. We are the richer for having known him, but the poorer for this loss. - Posted by: Carol Sharp (Friend) on: Nov 18, 2025
